MEMBERSHIP AND PRESENTER AGREEMENT – RAT FM
By signing and submitting this document, the applicant named above agrees to the following terms and conditions, which remain in effect for the duration of their membership with RAT FM unless replaced by a revised agreement.
- The applicant applies for membership of RAT FM and agrees to pay the prescribed membership fee as determined by the Station from time to time.
- Upon acceptance of membership, the applicant agrees to pay all applicable fees, charges, or levies required by the Station, as advised.
- The applicant agrees to comply with the Station’s Constitution, Rules, Policies, and Procedures, as amended from time to time, and with all applicable laws and regulations.
- The applicant acknowledges that they may request access to the Station’s governing documents and latest annual report in accordance with applicable legislation.
- The applicant confirms they are at least 18 years of age. Applicants under 18 must have this agreement signed with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
- The applicant declares any previous membership with the Station and confirms that all information provided is accurate.
- All presenters must be current financial members of the Station to participate in on-air or production activities.
- The applicant agrees to obtain and maintain a valid Working with Children Check (if required) and provide evidence within 90 days of joining.
- The Station will provide reasonable access to facilities, training, and a safe working environment.
- The applicant agrees to undertake any training required by the Station or relevant industry bodies.
- The applicant agrees to follow all lawful directions issued by Station management regarding programming, technical standards, conduct, safety, and use of Station property.
- Members must not enter a studio during a live broadcast without the presenter’s permission.
- The Station will provide access to a fair conflict resolution process consistent with applicable Codes of Practice.
- The applicant agrees to treat all members, volunteers, guests, and representatives with respect and not engage in unlawful discrimination, harassment, or bullying.
- The applicant is responsible for the proper use, care, and return of any Station property, including keys or access devices, and must report any damage or loss immediately.
- Station equipment, materials, and media must not be removed, copied, or used for personal purposes without prior authorisation. Copyright laws must be strictly observed.
- Station equipment and facilities are to be used only for approved Station purposes unless prior consent is obtained.
- The applicant must not make public, commercial, or promotional statements on behalf of RAT FM without prior authorisation.
- The applicant agrees to act in accordance with the Station’s mission, values, and policies.
- The applicant must accurately complete all required logs and records, including details of guests where applicable.
- The applicant acknowledges that personal property is their own responsibility. The Station is not liable for loss, theft, or damage.
- While the Station will take reasonable care of submitted materials, it accepts no liability for loss or damage.
- The applicant agrees to check Station communications (e.g. notices, schedules) when attending the premises.
- The applicant agrees to assist with reasonable Station activities when requested.
PROGRAMMING AND BROADCASTING OBLIGATIONS
- In relation to any program produced or presented:
25.1 The applicant is responsible for program content and must comply with all relevant laws, including those relating to defamation, discrimination, and broadcasting standards.
25.2 The applicant must comply with the Community Broadcasting Codes of Practice, the Broadcasting Services Act 1992, and any other applicable legislation.
25.3 The presenter must be present and prepared at the scheduled broadcast time and remain in control for the duration of the program.
25.4 If unable to present, the applicant must notify Station management as early as possible and, where feasible, arrange an approved replacement or provide suitable alternative content.
25.5 The presenter must broadcast all required announcements, including sponsorships and community information, as directed.
25.6 The presenter is responsible for the conduct of any guests and must ensure they do not operate Station equipment.
25.7 The presenter must not broadcast material that is defamatory, offensive, or in breach of Station policies. Explicit content requires prior approval and appropriate warnings.
25.8 The presenter must not make derogatory or critical on-air comments about the Station, its members, or management. Concerns must be raised through internal processes.
25.9 The Station reserves the right to adjust programming schedules, content, or format as required.
25.10 All programs produced for the Station are the property of RAT FM unless otherwise agreed in writing.
25.11 The Station may suspend or remove a program or presenter for failure to comply with policies, standards, or reasonable directions.
25.12 New presenters may be subject to a probationary period of up to three (3) months, during which performance will be reviewed.
25.13 The Station may conduct performance evaluations and require participation. Refusal may result in suspension or termination of participation.
25.14 The presenter agrees to attend meetings and training sessions as reasonably required by the Station.
